Description of Services
The Council on Aging of Volusia County offers primary caregivers of loved ones with early stage dementia, aged 60 years of age and older, a break through the Respite Program.
This program gives caregivers some time for themselves while their loved ones participate in a therapeutic, supervised social activity program from 9 am - 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Half-day sessions from 9 to Noon or Noon to 3 are also available for those who don't need a full-day of activities. A face-to-face meeting is required prior to admission. Some grant funding may be available for those who qualify or services can be paid for out-of-pocket by the individual.
