First United Methodist Church Preschool

Description of Services

The First United Methodist Church Preschool recognizes that all aspects of a child’s physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual development should be nurtured and celebrated. We honor the curriculum guidelines designed by the State Childhood Development Associate Program and the Nationally Accredited United Methodist Association of Preschools, (UMAP). Our curriculum is planned around monthly units designed to promote a fun and active educational process. We work to provide age-appropriate activities and materials that exercise the children’s developmental stages. Our goal is for the children to develop a variety of skills and concepts through meaningful experiences that take place in the classroom learning centers: arts and crafts, science, dramatic play, computer, reading and manipulatives. Enrichment activities such as music and chapel are also a part of our preschooler’s learning experiences. All Regular programs are from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All Children in all programs must be completely toilet trained.
