COMMUNITY RESOURCES FOR MEDICALLY UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS
About
The University of Central Florida College of Nursing and the UCF Libraries is pleased to provide this collection of Central Florida community resources assembled by Primary Care Scholars (Nurse Practitioner students supported by a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) traineeship grant). Through identification, collection, and distribution of available community resources, the Primary Care Scholars hope to equip medically underserved populations (MUPs) and healthcare providers caring for them with knowledge that may inform choice and impact health.
As defined by HRSA, MUPs are specific sub-groups of people living in a defined geographic area with a shortage of primary care health services. These groups may face economic, cultural, or linguistic barriers to health care. Examples include, but are not limited to, those who are:- Homeless;
- Low-income;
- Medicaid-eligible;
- Native American; or
- Migrant farmworkers.
What You Can Do To Help
The University of Central Florida College of Nursing and the UCF Libraries invite you to submit corrections for existing resources displayed on this site. We also encourage you to submit additional resources that may benefit medically underserved populations (MUPs) and healthcare providers caring for them.
