The Burns Site (8BR85) encapsulates a prehispanic burial mound and associated settlement, as well as two historic cemeteries, all of which have undergone archaeological research as part of CCAMP. Burns (8BR85) has undergone the most testing to date as a part of CCAMP. Phase I testing has taken place in 2017, 2018, and 2021. Phase II excavation has taken place in 2018 and 2019. Within the Burns (8BR85) collection you will find survey (shovel testing, FS logs for both survey and excavation, and SS logs), excavation (excavation notes/paperwork, profile and plan view maps, and feature paperwork), analysis (radiocarbon results and logs of all materials sent away for analysis), photos, reporting and archiving (student reports and official reports), mapping data, completed maps, and field notebooks.
