Mrs. Bethune can be seen in the center of the photograph, wearing a dress and holding the flowers. The remaining women in the photograph are unidentified, and are all wearing dresses. They are members of the Delta Sigma Theta, Tau chapter. On the back of the photograph is written the place and location of the picture, as well as this description: "Soror Mary McLeod Bethune being presented a bouquet of roses by Miss Doris Johnson of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Members of Tau Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta look on." The photographer of the image is unknown.
