She is featured center, and is wearing a suit jacket and skirt and is holding her arms out to her sides. A chair sits in front of her. Around her are seated African American male and female students who are watching her intently. Windows are covered by curtains. On the back of the image are written the date and place of the event, as well as, "Soror Mary McLeod Bethune addressing the spellbound students at tea in her honor." The photographer of the image is unknown.
