Description

Members of the St. Luke's School Girls' Chorus entertain residents of a senior citizen facility in Winter Park during the 1955-56 school year. Both the Girls' and Boys' Choruses were trained by Pastor Stephen M. Tuhy to sing Christian Hymns and, especially, Lutheran Chorales. Recordings were made and were used in programs St. Luke's Lutheran Church broadcast over five different radio stations in Central FL during that era (stations in Orlando, Sanford, Kissimmee and Haines City). Chorus members in this image received gifts of appreciation from the (unidentified) directors of the senior citizen facility, while Pastor Tuhy can be seen at the rear. Bottom Row: 1.
