Description

Mrs. Juliana Stanko (far right) poses with husband, Martin, and niece, Marian (2nd from left), along with two unidentified visitors to the Stanko's store in Slavia. c.1950s. Martin Stanko was a key figure in the establishment of Slavia, but did not become a full time resident until 1926. At that time, he retired from a successful business career in Cleveland and, with his wife, Juliana, moved to Slavia and built the general store and gas station which they operated for another 3 decades. Snapshot scanned on Epson 10000XL at SLLC, November, 2011.
