Description

Luther High School (in Orlando) "opened its doors for its first classes on September 2, 1975 for some twenty-six 'pioneer' students and four full-time teachers at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church facility..." A two page photo spread in the school's first yearbook ("Shield, '75-'76")shows the exterior of the Orlando church which served as the campus for Luther High School for several years. Portable buildings were added as needed, but the church's large gymnasium, adjoining classrooms, office space and sanctuary served the school well during its first years.
