Description

Jacob Lavender, with his sister, Stacy Lavender Mello (front) and mother, Elaine Duda Lavender gaze at the baptismal font in their family's ancestral church in Adamovske Kochanovce, Slovakia. This is the same font in which their great-grandparents, and generations before them, received the holy waters of Baptism as infants. Andrew Duda, Sr. emigrated to the US in 1909 and his wife, Katarina, followed him with their four children in 1911. This photo was taken in June, 2009, during a special Duda Family Reunion in Slovakia. Elaine Duda Lavender passed away less than two years after this visit to Slovakia
