Description

During the two-year period of construction of the new sanctuary, St. Luke's worship services were held in the gymnasium (Founders Hall) every Sunday. Weddings, baptisms, confirmations and funerals often took place there, as well. The east wall of "the gym" was covered with ecclesiastical artwork (created by Miss Ruth Wiedenmann)and a temporary chancel, with altar, baptismal font, etc. were set up for worship services each week. One baptism in that space was that of infant, Keith Edward Mc Clellan, shown in this photo with his family after the service on June 6, 1993. Left to right: older brother, Jack, father (Joe) holding brother Brett, Sue Littlewood holding the infant, Uncle Jeff Lukas, mother, Karen Lukas Mc Clellan, Aunt Linda Lukas Long and Uncle Stephen Lukas. Pastor E.J. Rossow officiated at the baptism.
