The unpublished autobiography (2002) of Donald J. Mikler,(b. 1931-d.2013) who was the oldest child of Michael Mikler, ml. and Matilda Lamos Mikler. Donald's father, Michael, ml (mladsi), was the eldest son of Joseph Mikler, Sr. and Katarina Strauch Mikler. Michael, ml (b. 1906) died in 1939, leaving his wife and five children. His funeral service was the first to be held in the original brick church and his remains are buried in St. Luke's Cemetery. Matilda, (b. 1908 - d. 1985) is buried beside her husband. Donald's memories of growing up in Slavia in the 1930s and family lore regarding his Mikler and Lamos ancestors are preserved in this manuscript.
