Length of Interview
This interview was conducted as part of the Fall 2021 HIS3600 Professionalizing History Majors class. Nicolas Ruiz interviews Marielle Garvey who is a 21-year-old senior student that studies in Human Factors, psychology, with a minor in cognitive sciences. This interview was conducted via zoom about the impact of COVID-19 on her life. She talked about how the pandemic made her get a job to support her family. She also talked about the struggles she has had with online classes. Combined, she was under a lot of stress. She also said that some friendships were lost due to the pandemic and how her mental health was affected by the pandemic too. At times, she was very bored with nothing to do. Marielle also talks about her frustrations with how the University handled the virus. Marielle also talked about how she thinks that everyone should get the vaccine. At first, she felt a little hesitant, but she still went and got it. She finishes by saying that two things’ people can take away from the pandemic are that it is not all about you but it is about humanity as a whole and that people should listen to the scientists.
