UCF Libraries Diversity Week 2020 Committee presented Diverse Families Bookshelf on October 23, 2020.
Abstract
Identifying picture books and young adult literature titles that mirror the wide range of diverse readers and the unique characteristics of a family unit can be a difficult task. Join us to learn about the Diverse Families Bookshelf which was created by UCF librarians as a finding tool to help bridge the gap between readers and books. This database connects readers with titles that open windows and expose readers to different cultures and life experiences, building empathy in the process.
