Recruitment And Retention Of Optics Faculty
Abstract
There is widespread need for scientists and engineers educated in optics. Universities are beginning to respond to this need by creating new programs in optics and including more optics education in the context of existing programs. This situation presents challenges in recruiting and retention of faculty. This paper examines issues relevant to this challenge. © 1989 SPIE.
