This presentation explores the integration of AI in a Chinese language course, where students use a customized ChatGPT chatbot to practice writing, speaking, and job interview preparation. A demo will show how ChatGPT can personalize interview questions based on students' resumes and target job descriptions while utilizing its audio functionality to facilitate mock interviews. Differences in student performance in ChatGPT-facilitated interviews and human-led mock interviews will be shared in terms of language proficiency, interview skills, and confidence in foreign language use. We'll also demonstrate how to create a customized AI chatbot and discuss issues around using AI in language learning and career coaching.
