Description
Writing about economics is a critical way for students to demonstrate understanding of content. Coming up with an industry or topic to write about, however, can be challenging. This session will demonstrate a writing assignment for a 1000-word paper that I use in an undergraduate Managerial Economics course. I focus on a process-oriented approach by having students work on a formal in-class workshop that includes prompts to brainstorm with AI, directions for using a reputable library database, and time to think, pair, and share. Students leave the workshop with a paper topic and a direction for the paper.
