Abstract

We report experimental observation of the dependence of the fluorescence excited by two-photon absorption (TPA/E fluorescence) in dye solutions on the angle between the linear polarizations of two intersecting pump beams. Both degenerate and nondegenerate TPA/E fluorescence were studied with 4 ns pulsed tunable lasers as pump sources. We find that earlier theoretical analyses do not contain all of the observed changes in fluorescence signal with relative polarization angle. (C) 2003 American Institute of Physics.
