An annual catalog providing pertinent information at the time for students. It includes a complete listing of the roll of students from 1888-1889. It also provides information on the faculty, the school and its academic programs, as well as rules and regulations regarding student life. The cover notes that Cookman Institute was "Founded and Sustained by the Freedman's Aid Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church." At the end of the catalog are advertisements for J. R. Kuchler, plumber; Magnolia Grocery, wholesale grocer; and H. Drew and Bro., book publisher and retailer.
