Description

In this episode, we follow Courtney's story from her time at UCF. Listen to Courtney talk about how a foreign language minor as part of her political science major led her to discover Spanish language, study abroad in Barcelona, Spain, and work at an NGO in Casablanca, Morocco. Hear her share how her language learning and travel experiences helped her find her way into an MA TESOL in our Modern Languages department and her job teaching English to international students at UCF. In our conversation, we talk about the value of studying abroad and how scholarships can help make that dream a reality for students. The Dr. Olga Pustovalova TEFL scholarship offers $1000 every year to one student who is working on the TEFL certificate offered through the Modern Languages and Literatures Department. For more information about this scholarship, please see this website: https://cah.ucf.edu/languages/scholarship/tefl/.
