Desiree Dominguez, '20
Biography
Desiree Dominguez was born in Miami, Florida and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. Her thirst for knowledge led her to become a software engineer intern at DiSTI. Her past research consisted of wireless communication at Florida International University. Her current research consists of embedded systems under the mentorship of Dr. Kider at the University of Central Florida. Believing in the importance of social activism, she finds time to give back to her community by volunteering at Pet rescue by Judy and being a mentor for the Florida–Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation. She plans to obtain her Ph.D. in Computer Engineering to become a college professor and inspire other Latinas to pursue degrees in STEM.
