Abstract

Experiential learning resources are described through an overview of PANEL, a peer assistance network developed to support internship and experiential education programs. The article explains the origins of the National Society for Internships and Experiential Education, its services, and the creation of PANEL as a clearinghouse and referral system for practitioners. It outlines areas of assistance, including learning objectives, contracts, field experience design, program evaluation, faculty roles, legal issues, funding, community relationships, and learner development. The article emphasizes that faculty, supervisors, and administrators responsible for internships often need guidance in developing, managing, and evaluating experiential learning opportunities. It contributes to communication administration by identifying a professional resource for improving internship development, curriculum integration, and experiential education practice.
