Abstract

In late 1986, Ernest E. Ettlich, Interim President of Southern Oregon State College, and Robley D. Rhine, Chair at the University of Colorado at Denver, sent letters of appreciation to the Association for Communication Administration. Both expressed gratitude for commemorative plaques marking ACA’s fifteenth anniversary and reflected on their roles in the organization’s founding. Ettlich emphasized his pride in ACA’s continued vitality and its contributions to developing administrative leadership. Rhine recalled the early San Francisco meeting, acknowledged ACA’s growth, and noted ongoing efforts to advocate for the centrality of communication within liberal arts programs. Their correspondence underscored the historical significance of ACA’s establishment and the enduring professional bonds among its members.
