Abstract

This article presents a practical framework for constructing alumni outcomes assessment surveys within university communication programs. Drawing on institutional experience, it details the sequence of securing funding, defining alumni cohorts, coding time zones, drafting computer assisted questionnaires, training interviewers, and scheduling call calendars. A condensed instrument and subject card illustrate variable selection across demographics employment education curriculum satisfaction advising and departmental support. Emphasis is placed on customizing questions to local political and academic contexts, using computer based data entry, and avoiding committee designed instruments that dilute focus. Ten strategic recommendations advocate faculty collaboration realistic timelines and student participation, positioning alumni surveys as vital tools for accountability accreditation curriculum evaluation and evidence informed resource allocation.
