Description
Artist statement:
Woman from the Sea is a poem and book written in response to the death of Sara Millerey in Columbia and the increase of transphobic violence against trans women in the United States. The artist uses visually striking imagery and additional found materials in hopes of both informing the reader of violence against trans women and showing the perspective of someone who cares for a trans woman. The book is an overall commentary on the pain of losing someone you love, religious trauma, and the celebration of a life taken too soon and in vain.
