Hope Botanical Gardens was formerly part of Major Richard Hope's Estate. In 1881, the Jamaican government purchased two hundred acres of land from the Hope Estate in order to establish an experimental garden. In the picture, a woman with a hat is standing in a flower garden. Slide labeled Hope Gardens Kingston Jam.
