Photo Description
The property was once a great house and estate owned by John Shaw which was used for sugar cane production. The estate was purchased by the Pringle family in the early twentieth century. In 1923, the great house was converted into a hotel. Later, Pringle left the property to his daughter Flora McKenzie Pringle Stewart, who cultivated its botanical gardens. The area pictured is now known as the Shaw Park Botanical Gardens and Waterfall in Saint Ann, Jamaica. The hotel has been relocated to the beach. Slide labeled Shaw Park Hotel Ocho Rios.
