    The Boy Scouts of America, incorporated in 1910, is a private youth organization in the United States. In 1930, the first official Boy Scout troop was established in the United States Virgin Islands as part of the Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands Council. On January 1, 1965, the Virgin Islands Council, Boy Scouts of America was established as an official charter with Samuel B. King as their scout executive. As of 2013, the Virgin Islands were part of the National Capital Area Council, which also includes the District of Columbia. This image includes camping tents near a clearing in a forested area near Francis Bay, Saint John. Next to some of the tents are United States of America flags and the red and white Boy Scouts of America troop flags. One boy with a toy gun at his waist approaches the photographer. In the distance, other boys are gathered near tents and flags. Slide labeled Boy Scout Camp St Francis Bay St Johns.
