Description
Two pages from the "Fourteenth Census of the United States: 1920-Population" (Dept. of Commerce-Bureau of the Census) list members of the Andrew Duda, Sr. as residents of the Village of North Olmstead, OH. The family had left Slavia for a 10 year period (1916-1926) to raise capital for their future farming endeavors on the land they had purchased in Florida. At the time of the 1920 Census, they were living near Cleveland, where Andrew operated a farm on leased land. Their sons, John (15), Andrew, Jr. (13) and Ferdinand (10) went to school and/or worked to help the family. The Duda's only daughter, Anna, was already married to George Jakubcin and raising her own family in Florida.
