Strangers hugging and cries echoing through the halls were seen and felt at the University of Central Florida as everyone gathered to honor the Pulse victims one year later in a ceremony called UCF Remembers.
UCF invited the public to the main campus on June 8 to recognize the victims of the June 12, 2016, tragedy at Pulse nightclub, the site of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history to date, through a series of free events it held, including an art gallery filled with quilts, social media messages posted during the tragedy and photos from past vigils.
