Abstract
30 5th and 6th graders were randomly assigned to a running program or to a control condition and were administered the Self-Esteem Inventory. Pre- and posttest results reveal a significant increase in self-esteem for Ss in the running program. The desirability of such a program for elementary school students is stressed.
