Abstract
Dynamic soil models are required in computer simulations in which changes of natural terrain are involved. An analytic soil model is presented in this paper, based on soil properties and Newtonian physics. The method provided can be used to calculate the evolution of a given soil configuration under the constraint of volume conservation. In order to meet the requirement of real-time computer simulation, a numerical algorithm with linear time and space complexities is also developed to solve the differential equations.
