    Abstract

    By means of a unitary transformation, a Raman-coupled model of two-photon processes in an effective two-level system is derived from the Hamiltonian of a three-level atom interacting with a pump and a Stokes mode. The effect of optical Stark shifts on the dynamics is investigated.
