    Abstract

    We establish Bernstein-type inequalities for rational functions with prescribed poles in the Chebyshev norm on the unit circle in the complex plane. Generalizations of polynomial inequalities of Erdos-Lax and Turin are also obtained for such rational functions with restricted zeros.
