    Abstract

The multi-fractal aspects of the intermittency corrections to the spectrum of temperature fluctuations in isotropic turbulence are discussed. The random-beta version of the multi-fractal model of Benzi et al. [J. Phys. A 17 (1984) 3521] is generalized to describe the turbulent temperature field and is compared with the experimental measurements of Antonia et al. [ Phys. Rev. A 30 (1984) 27041 and Meneveau et al. [Phys. Rev. A 41 (1990) 894 ].
