    Abstract

    Rational functions orthogonal on the unit circle with prescribed poles lying outside the unit circle are studied. We establish a relation between the orthogonal rational functions and the orthogonal polynomials with respect to varying measures. Using this relation, we extend the recent results of Bultheel, Gonzalez-Vera, Hendriksen and Njastad on the asymptotic behaviour of orthogonal rational functions.
