Abstract
Caring represents a large social movement that includes, but is not limited to, nursing. Some nurse scholars and feminists believe that caring can be used as the basis of a caring ethic, but critics argue that caring is not enough. This article reviews eight of the major arguments against a caring ethic and explores responses and alternatives to the arguments. Copyright (C) 1997 by W.B. Saunders Company.
