    Abstract

We have experimentally observed room-temperature exciton resonances resulting from interband two-photon transitions between bound-to-continuum states. The excitons exhibit reduced binding energy and broadened resonances compared to that of excitons resulting from two-photon transitions between bound states. This trend is consistent with our theoretical prediction. (C) 1998 American Institute of Physics. [S0003-6951(98)02151-2].
