    Abstract

    The avalanche current, including non-local effects, has been modelled. The avalanche current model has been compared with numerical device simulation-MEDICI. Good agreement between the model prediction and MEDICI simulation has been obtained. A comparison of avalanche currents predicted by the local model and non-local model is given. An empirical avalanche model suitable for circuit simulation is proposed.
