    Abstract

The dielectric relaxation and physical properties of some single and double ester compounds were investigated. Experimental results indicate that the double-ester compound has a 3X lower dielectric relaxation frequency and larger dielectric anisotropy than the single ester, but its viscosity is also higher. We have formulated three high birefringence DFLC mixtures and compared their figure-of-merit at elevated temperatures.
