    Abstract

    Apteronotus galvisi, a new species belonging to the A. leptorhynchus species-group, is described from the Rio Meta basin at locations 305-424 meters above mean sea level in the piedmont of the Cordillera Oriental, Colombia. It is diagnosed by a combination of characters related to osteology, external morphology, and pigmentation.
