Abstract
The partial and total photoionization cross sections from the initial P-2(3/2) ground state of atomic Br to the final Br+ P-3(1) components across the 4p(4)(D-1(2))6d,8s(P-2, D-2, F-2, S-2) autoionization resonances are presented. The multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock (MCHF) method has been used to calculate both bound and continuum wave functions in the nonrelativistic limit. The Breit-Pauli approximation is applied to determine the effect of spin-orbit interactions in the photoionization of atomic Br with the MCHF wave function as input. Our calculated results are compared with experimental data.
