    Abstract

    Characteristics of crashes at parking lots were investigated and the significant risk factors related to the traffic environment, driver, and vehicle were identified using logistic regression models. The study found that crashes at parking lots are more likely to occur while the drivers' vision is obstructed by building/fixed objects, with a parked car, and while backing the vehicle.
