Cyrus Parkhurst Condit wrote the novel, A Trip to Florida for Health and Sport, in 1855, which gives an accurate depiction of everyday life in Florida prior to the Civil War. It was first published in 2009 and edited by Rollins College professors Dr. Maurice O'Sullivan and Dr. Wexian Zhang.
