Abstract
This report presents the results of cycle tests conducted on lead-acid batteries commonly used in stand-alone photovoltaic systems. The objectives of this work were to characterize battery performance under variable charge/discharge rates and variable regulation voltages, with the goal of developing meaningful recommendations for the PV system design community on the proper application and charge control requirements for these batteries.
