Paula Machado is a recipient of UCF’s prestigious 30 Under 30 award and is currently a public relations manager for the Disney Cruise Line. Listen to her talk about her academic journey through her double major in Spanish and Journalism and minor in Latin American studies. She shares stories of the exciting job opportunities that started with our UCF Knights community connections and grew to include time working with Univision, Spectrum News 13, and Disney. She shares memories of her time working as a reporter and observing a shift towards more multilingual representation in Orlando’s journalism. She also talks about her transition into working for public relations and gives our listeners a taste of what life as a public relations manager for the Disney Cruise Line is like. Her takeaway message is simple: There’s no downside to studying languages!
