In this episode, hear Carolina Salazar talk about the trajectory that led her to her current job as an instructor of Spanish in our department! Carolina moved from Pereira, Colombia to Orlando at 22 years old after completing her undergraduate degree in communications and working as a journalist for “El Tiempo.” She shares her experiences of learning English language at UCF and then working as a journalist for “El Sentinel” in Orlando. Hear her explain what drew her to complete her MA in Spanish and later teach the language at UCF and lead study abroad experiences for her students in Barcelona. Carolina shares her advice and encouragement for anyone who is interested in learning an additional language as an adult.
