Description
Rhantany is a powerful astringent, with some slight tonic virtues. It may be employed interallyu with advantage in menorrhagia, hematemesis, passive hemorrahages, chronic diarrhea, leucorrhea, chronic musouc discharges, colliquative perspiration, and incontenence of urine. As an energetic styptic in epsitaaxis, hemmorahage from the cavity of an extracted tooth, or the surface of a wound, and as a local application in prolapsus ani, fissue of the anus and leucorrheoea, as also for spongy and bleeding bums, it will be found unsurpassed. - from Organic Materia Medica, p.151
