A Delta launch vehicle on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Bell System's Telstar experimental communications satellite will be boosted into orbit with a Delta. Under a cooperative agreement, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration will launch the satellite and be reimbursed by the American Telephone and Telegraph Company for costs of the Delta and launch services.
