Galerius's Edict of Toleration

At the end of his reign, Emperor Galerius issued this edict legalizing Christianity in the Roman Empire. This was a reversal of the policy of previous emperors, notably Diocletian, and set the stage for Emperor Constantine's overt support for Christianity.
